Lake in the Hills Rotary Club gives donations to local animal rescues

On Sept. 9, the Rotary Club of Lake in the Hills had the great pleasure to host a mixer with the Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Chamber of Commerce to donate funds to three great animal rescues.

Hoof, Woof and Meow, On Angels Wings, and Bark of an Angel all received checks totaling $3,400 from the Rotary Club of Lake in the Hills.

These funds were obtained from monies raised from the beer tents tip jars at Lake in the Hills Rockin' Rotary Ribfest on July 8-11 and Lake in the Hills Summer Sunset Fest on Sept. 3-5.

The event was held at the Jackie Gappa Agency, 2112 W. Algonquin Road in Lake in the Hills. It was attended by members of each animal rescue as well as chamber and Rotary members.

Each year, the club selects an organization or organizations based on needs.

This year, the animal rescues were in great need of donations as their funding has been impacted over the past year, yet the amount of animals they rescue have increased

There is a further need by each of the pet rescues. If you would like to donate to anything to these rescues, go to their websites:

• Hoof, Woof and Meow, a registered nonprofit 501(c)(3) no-kill animal rescue organization, established in 2012 and based in Gilberts; hoofwoofmeow.org
