The Edge Fitness Clubs to reopen Illinois location

ORANGE, Conn., June 25, 2020 - In accordance with state guidelines allowing health clubs to reopen, The Edge Fitness Clubs is announcing it will be reopening its Naperville location to members on Friday, June 26.

To ensure the health and safety of members and staff, new state mandated protocols will be implemented.

"Our top priority is always the safety and well-being of our members and staff," said Jeff Stone, Chief Marketing and Administrative Officer for The Edge Fitness Clubs. "In accordance with requirements from the state of Illinois, we are committed to providing the safest possible environment so there will be new protocols put in place. These enhancements will allow our Illinois members to get back to enjoying their health and fitness routines in the safest and most comfortable manner possible."

Some of the new protocols include the addition of Sanitation Stations, which ensure there are abundant hospital-grade cleaning supplies in every area of the facility to wipe down equipment and sanitize hands. Protexus electrostatic fogging spray technology will be used to disinfect and sanitize the entire club. There also will be touchless entry for each member.

Social distancing also will be an important procedural change. Group fitness classes and personal training will resume on June 29. In accordance with state guidelines, there will be a limit on the number of people participating in each fitness class. The clubs also will enact a 'checkerboard' approach, utilizing every other piece of cardio equipment.

"One of the great things about our clubs is the amount of space that we have. This allows us to comply with state-mandated capacity restrictions while allowing members to safely adhere to social distancing guidelines," added Stone.

Initially, the locations will be open the following hours: Monday-Thursday from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday 5 a.m.to 9 p.m., Saturday 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. These limited hours will allow deep cleaning of the clubs every night.

Edge Fitness will continue to rely on the guidance of government officials and public health authorities to determine when normal operations can be resumed.
