One Earth Film Festival Returns to the Catlow

One Earth Film Festival premiers "8 Billion Angels" at the Catlow Theater, Barrington on Saturday, March 7, 2-3 pm. A community event sponsored by Go Green Barrington and the Barrington Area Library, join neighbors, family and friends for the Barrington's 2nd annual One Earth Film Festival presentation. This year's theme is The Power of We! Everyone included, everyone uplifted, and together we can do it - #climate change.

"8 Billion Angels" weaves together the voices of people around the world to help us fully understand the human impact on ecology, confronting the impact of unsustainable growth.

"Today, humanity's demand for resources vastly exceeds nature's ability to supply them. Food, water, climate and extinction emergencies are unfolding before our eyes. 8 Billion Angels tells the truth about the conflict between the size of our global population and the sustainability of our planet.

With passion, humility, and honesty, experts explain the indisputable connection between our environmental catastrophes, unsustainable population and increasing consumption. The consequences to humanity and the planet are laid bare if we do not quickly and dramatically alter our current population and consumption trajectories." See more information at 8billionangels.org.

A dozen local environmental groups will pack the lobby of the theater to provide a range of action steps we all can take along with volunteer opportunities. FREE event, but please register at gogreenbarrington.org. Then, plan to join Go Green Barrington on March 18 at 7 pm, in the Barrington Village Hall, to advocate for environmental action to be included in the Village ten-year plan.
