Saint Scholastica School hosts its first Pizza Wars

On Dec. 11, Saint Scholastica School in Woodrige held its first Pizza Wars Competition.

Community pizza restaurants put forth their best thin and thick crust pies!

Families who joined in on the "research" happily taste tested samples from six different establishments. Pizzas included cheese, sausage, pepperoni, italian beef, bbq chicken, spinach, and many others.

Once everyone was well fed, attendees voted for the best crust, best sauce, and best overall pizza. The counting of the ballots was so close, there was a recount before the winners were announced.

The Saint Scholastica School 2019 Pizza Wars Competition winners are:

• Best crust: Aurelio's Woodridge

• Best sauce: Papa's Pizza

• Best overall: Papa's Pizza

Saint Scholastica School thanks, in alphabetical order, the pizza providers: Aurelio's Woodridge, Jet Pizza, Lou Malnati's Pizza, MOD Pizza, Papa's Pizza, and Rosati's Pizza. Each pizzeria donated all their samples, and they were all delicious!

The 2019 Pizza Wars Competition tickets were sold out. Keep an eye out for the 2020 Pizza Wars Competition. There are pizzerias out there looking to make a comeback!
