ACFW-Chicago Invites Writers to Dialogue Workshop
Writers of all skill levels are invited to participate in "Dynamic Dialogue," a writing workshop taking place during the American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) meeting from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 10 at the Schaumburg Township Library, 130 S. Roselle Road. Led by author and ACFW-Chicago President Susan Miura, this mini workshop will help writers use dialogue to create tension and conflict in a scene, reveal character and move the story forward.
"Dialogue can make or break a novel," Miura said. "If the plot is captivating, but the dialogue drags or doesn't do its job, you'll lose your readers. This workshop will provide some practical tips for writing great dialogue."
The meeting will begin with a brief overview of the speaker and workshop lineup for 2020, and an election of the ACFW-Chicago board. Only members may vote for board members.
Writers of all genres are welcome to attend, and visitors may attend twice before deciding whether to join ACFW-Chicago. Meetings are held on the second Friday of each month at the Schaumburg Library. Members participate in workshops, hear presentations from editors and award-winning authors, and network with other writers. Topics highlight various aspects of writing, editing and getting published. Critique nights are held several times throughout the year.
