Nominate local military family for 'Decorated Family' by Nov. 11
Christmas Decor Inc., North America's leading professional holiday and event decorating company, reminds Crystal Lake area residents that there is still time to nominate a local military family to be a 2019 "Decorated Family."
Nominations are open through Veteran's Day, Nov. 11.
Under the program, participating franchisees like Christmas Decor by Arvidson & Sons, Inc. donate products, resources, time, and expertise to create glowing tributes at the homes of military families whose loved ones will be deployed outside of the country for the holiday season.
This annual tradition began in 2003. For the 2019 holiday season, the company is seeking to attract hundreds of nominations that result in decorating at least 200 homes.
"This year, the families of the more than 165,000 active-duty men and women who are deployed outside of the United States and its territories will face celebrating the holiday season without their loved one," said Dennis Marunde of Christmas Decor by Arvidson & Sons Inc. "The Decorated Family program was created to literally light up the holidays for these families and to send a glowing thank you to these service members for their dedication and sacrifice."
To nominate a family for this distinction, Crystal Lake-area friends and family of deployed, active-duty military may go to Christmas Decor's Facebook page at www.facebook.com/ChristmasDecor, click on the Decorated Family Program link, and complete a form explaining why they are nominating a military family to become a "Christmas Decor Decorated Family" for the 2019 holiday season.
Deadline to complete and submit the nomination form is midnight Monday, Nov. 11.
