Entrepreneur to speak on women's empowerment at MCC

Cultural activist and entrepreneur Jodi Bondi Norgaard will present "Stronger Together: Women Supporting Women," at McHenry County College from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, in the Luecht Auditorium, 8900 Route 14, in Crystal Lake.

Norgaard will share her entrepreneurial experience and brings awareness to the value of women supporting women in business and in life. She tackles the stereotypes imposed upon women, offers tangible strategies women can use to support one another, and advises women how to step into their own power in the workplace and beyond.

Norgaard is the founder of the Dream Big Toy Company and creator of the award-winning Go! Go! Sports Girls brand, which includes dolls, books and apps designed to encourage healthy and active play over fashion and body image.

The presentation is hosted by Education to Empowerment, a scholarship program that provides financial support and ongoing mentorship to female students in their final year at MCC and as they continue their education at a four-year college or university.

The event cost is $25 per person and is open to the public, which includes one hour of appetizers and networking before the keynote presentation at 7 p.m. To purchase tickets, visit www.mchenry.edu/rsvp. For information, call the Friends of MCC Foundation at (815) 479-7529.
