Find new ways to appreciate pools this summer!

Featuring a movie night, BBQ lunch and family obstacle course, this year's Aquatics Appreciation events welcome you to Schaumburg Park District pools for fun-filled family activities!

The District's outdoor pools will host unique activities on the following dates: June 14 at Atcher Island, 730 S. Springinsguth Road, July 16 at Meineke Pool, 220 E. Weathersfield Way and Aug. 3 at Bock Pool, 1223 W. Sharon Lane.

• Atcher Island Flick N' Float: Break the rules and bring your floaties on Friday, June 14 from 7 to 10 p.m. Sing along to the movie Lilo & Stitch on a big screen and snack on themed concession meal items. It is the only time you may use pool floaties in the main pool! Cost to attend is $20 for residents/$25 for non-residents.

• Meineke Pool BBQ Lunch and Deck Games: Get ready to eat and play on Tuesday, July 16 from 1 to 3 p.m. Participate in chalk fun, a balloon toss and other deck games! Free to attend.

• Bock Family Obstacle Course Challenge: Gather your family, bring your swimsuit and head over to Bock Neighborhood Center on Saturday, Aug. 3 from 10:45 a.m. to noon. The goal will be to complete all the obstacles in the fastest amount of time. Prizes will be awarded for the first, second and third place families. Cost to attend is $15 per family, limited to 30 families.

"We're excited for the return of some popular events as well as introducing new elements and activities," said Stacy Johnson, aquatics supervisor. "These events are a great way for patrons to re-acquaint themselves with the District pools and discover new ways to have fun in the sun!"

Event fees and standard pool admission rates apply.
