Explore green living ideas at MCC's Green Living Expo
Learn to create a more energy efficient household and live a more earth-friendly lifestyle at the 11th annual Green Living Expo from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3 at McHenry County College, in the MCC Gym and outside in parking lot B, at 8900 Route 14, Crystal Lake.
More than 100 area green businesses and organizations will be available to help residents explore eco-friendly ideas to take home, including household products, toys, skin care, beekeeping and energy efficient ideas for home and business.
New this year is a focus on local agriculture with many new farms and ag-related organizations and products.
Other highlights include a 2,500-gallon fish tank display with many different species of Fox River fish and solar installers featuring the latest panels and financing information.
In addition, sustainable art creations by area artists, electric cars, electric and conventional bikes will be featured.
MCC's hybrid engine truck will be part of the clean transportation exhibit, including solar and super-mileage team race cars from area universities.
The Green Living Expo is free and open to the public.
The event is sponsored by the McHenry County College Sustainability Center, along with 25 businesses and community organizations including the fish tank sponsors Magitek Energy Solutions and Sitka salmon shares.
