ACFW-Chicago Invites Readers and Writers to Book Expo and Conference

Writing and book marketing workshops for writers, along with a Book Expo, will all be part of the "Write to Success" conference Saturday, Nov. 3, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 202 E. Schaumburg Rd., Schaumburg. Offered by the American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) Chicago Chapter, the conference is open to non-members and writers of all levels and genres.

The conference runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with check-in from 8-9 a.m. The conference fee is $50 for non-ACFW members. Tables for the Book Expo are still available for $15 to authors who want to sell books. Conference attendance is not required. More information and registration is available at https://acfwchicago.com/write-to-success-2018/

Following registration, the day will kick off with a keynote speech by Cara Putman, award-winning author of more than 25 books, lawyer and Purdue University lecturer. Workshop presenters include Angie Fenimore, New York Times bestselling author and founder of Calliope Writing Circle, and her husband Michael Sheen, artist, web designer, and Calliope podcast co-host. Workshops will also be led by editors Rowena Kuo and Lara Helmling, and award-winning authors Allie Pleiter, Susan Miura and Carmela Martino. Workshop descriptions are provided on the aforementioned ACFW-Chicago website.

The Book Expo, free and open to the public, will run from 3-5 p.m. in the church's Fellowship Hall. All ages are welcome to meet authors, who will be selling and signing books in a variety of genres, including romance, crime, mystery, historical and more. No fee or registration required.

"Writers of all levels, from novice to multi-published, will gain valuable insight from a great variety of workshops led by experts in their field," said Susan Miura, ACFW-Chicago vice president. "And everyone is invited to our Book Expo, where there will be a huge selection of titles in many genres, with books for all ages. It's a great way to buy books, meet the authors who wrote them, and get them signed. Just drop in."
