Annual Winter Hallway Book Sale starts Nov. 24

The Environmental Defenders of McHenry County will hold their annual Winter Hallway Book Sale Nov. 24 to Dec. 9 at the Woodstock Square Mall, first floor, 110 S. Johnson St.

There will be tables of books set up in the hallway area of the Woodstock Square Mall building outside the Green Spot and the Defenders' office.

Books in the hallway will be priced at $1 per hardcover and 50 cents per paperback.

The sale will start on Friday, Nov. 24, which is the night of the tree lighting of Woodstock Square. The sale will continue until 7 p.m. that evening.

Hours are the same as the Green Spot hours, with the exception of the first evening.

Hours are: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. It will be open until 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24. There will be a bag sale Dec. 7-9.

Proceeds from the sale benefit the Environmental Defenders of McHenry County, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation and improvement of the environment. The group provides community residents with educational programs and volunteer action on pollution prevention, sustainable land use and energy and natural resource conservation. Donations are encouraged and are tax-deductible as charitable contributions.
