Get tickets for 12th annual Holiday Book Review to benefit Pioneer Center

The 12th annual Holiday Book Review benefiting Pioneer Center for Human Services is now accepting reservations.

"This is the best event in McHenry County to kickoff the holiday season. We are so very grateful for all the dedicated volunteers who have been making this event possible for the last 12 years … and for all the attendees who come out to enjoy the festivities," said Amy Hernon, director of development for Pioneer Center.

The event, in its 12th year, will take place Friday, Dec. 1, at D'Andrea Banquets, 4419 Route 14 in Crystal Lake.

It includes more than 50 gift basket raffle items and a grand raffle featuring a LG 55-inch Smart Ultra HD TV, Lake Geneva overnight package, Apple iPad Pro 10.5-inch and Ed Levin Swing necklace and bracelet set.

This year's presentation will be "Tiny Tips for a Big Life with Jenny Riddle: 8 Books to Inspire, Intrigue, Entertain, Maybe Even Change You."

It will be presented by book dramatist Jenny Riddle. It will be a fast fast-paced, motivational giant book review as Jenny dramatizes and distills fascinating stories and one-of-a-kind advice from eight best-sellers, including Kirk and Anne Douglas, Lesley Stahl's "Becoming Grandma: The Joys and Science of the New Grandparenting," Sheryl Sandberg's "Option B: Facing Adversity, Building Resilience, and Finding Joy," Alan Alda's "If I Understood You, Would I Have This Look on my Face?" and more.

Doors open at 10:45 a.m. with a social hour and raffles, lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. and the book review begins after lunch.

Tickets are $50 each or you can purchase a table of 10 for $500.

In addition, you don't have to attend the event to take your chance at winning one of the four grand raffle prizes.

Grand raffle tickets can be purchased online at www.holidaybookreview.org for $10 each or six for $50.

Winners need not be present at the event and all proceeds benefit Pioneer Center's programs.

To make your reservations or purchase grand raffle tickets, visit www.holidaybookreview.org or call Lori Lattanzio, marketing & development assistant, at (815) 759-7114.
