Need a speaker? Consider Defenders' Speakers Bureau for your next meeting

The Speakers' Bureau of The Environmental Defenders of McHenry County was pleased to provide a program on "Nutrient Loss Reduction," led by Cindy Skrukrud, Clean Water Program Director of the Sierra Club-Illinois Chapter.

The Huntley Rotary Club was host and the event was held at Huntley Park District's Pinecrest Golf Course. Twenty Rotarians and guests were present.

Skrukrud works with Sierra Club members, citizens, public officials and business leaders throughout Illinois to advocate for sustainable development/redevelopment, improved wastewater treatment, industrial pollution prevention, protection of natural and agricultural lands, and river restoration to better protect the water quality of the state's lakes, rivers, streams and wetlands.

The Environmental Defenders of McHenry County offers speakers for civic groups, schools, Scouts, etc. on topics ranging from composting to native gardens to recycling, and everything in between.

If you have a group interested in a speaker on an environmental issue, contact The Environmental Defenders at (815) 338-0393 and ask about the Speakers' Bureau.
