Images: Ski jumpers in August and a principal taped to a wall

Art shows and car shows are still making an appearance in The Week in Picutes, but so is ski jumping.

  The Sun rises through ominous clouds in Naperville Wednesday. I just loved the contrast between the clouds and sky. It really made this image work for me.   While photographing the annual West Chicago Mexican Independence Day parade I used a camera trick to create these colorful orbs. The orbs were created by photographing the bright lights of fire department vehicles participating in the parade while the lens was out of focus on the vehicles and lights. The orbs are actually an aberration of the lenses aperture and if you look closely the "orbs" are octagonal.
