Warrenville Art on the Prairie and Music Festival offers family fun Sept. 17-18
If you are looking for a fun, inexpensive family outing, bring your clan to Art on the Prairie and Music Festival on Saturday, Sept. 17 and Sunday, Sept. 18. Admission is free.
Festival hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday in the Warrenville City Hall parking lot on Stafford Place. The event features an art show, free music, free kids activities, micro brew, and food.
Art on the Prairie is a juried fine art show featuring jewelry, ceramics, paintings, fused glass, photography, and many more types of art mediums exhibited and sold by participating artists.
The entertainment schedule includes a variety of music and performing arts:
Saturday, Sept. 17:
• 11:30 a.m.: Brad Stirtz Steel Drums
• 1 -3 p.m.: FREE face painting
• 1:30 p.m.: Dona Benkert ~ Dulcimer
• 2:30 p.m.: Small Potatoes
• 4 p.m.: Banjo Buddies Dixieland Band
• 5 p.m.: Tin Fiddle
Sunday, Sept. 18:
• 11:30 a.m.: Botts Jazz Trio
• 12:30-2:30 p.m.: FREE Chris Fascione ~ Comedy, juggling walkaround
• 1 -3 p.m.: FREE face painting
• 1 -3 p.m.: FREE Ben's Bubbles
• 1 p.m. Ac*Rock
• 2 p.m.: Dance with Janet ~ Country Dance
• 3 p.m.: Rick Lindy and The Wild Ones
"Throughout the event you'll be able to see artist demos, and have fun at the children's art station," said Ruth Brackmann, Warrenville Park District recreation supervisor.
