Environmental Defenders sets annual meeting for March 13
The Environmental Defenders of McHenry County invite the public to celebrate the 46th anniversary of the organization with its members Sunday, March 13. The event will be held as a catered buffet supper from 4 to 7 p.m. at Park Place, 406 W. Woodstock St. in Crystal Lake.
Tickets are $22 for members and $50 for nonmembers, which includes the price of a one-year membership. Guests may attend just the program portion of the event for free, but RSVPs are requested.
Kristopher Lah with the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service will present a program about the endangered and threatened species that call the Chicago region "home." This area of Illinois boasts more endangered and threatened species of plants and animals than any other part of Illinois.
Inherent in the mission of the Environmental Defenders is a commitment to "build sound ecological relationships between people and the natural world that supports all life." So this program will provide a great opportunity to get updated about the status of some of these species that we work to help protect.
To purchase tickets for this event, go to mcdef.org/members-and-giving/2016-annual-meeting. Tickets must be purchased by Friday, March 4; seating is limited.
