Auction donations sought for Heritage Fair

UNION - Do you have a pre-1950 item in good condition that you would be willing to donate to a good cause? If so, you have the perfect item for the Antique Auction at the McHenry County Historical Society's Heritage Fair!

Previously donated items include antique furniture and furnishings, quilts, vintage toys, kitchen collectibles, and stained glass lamps. Why not sort through the attic or garage and see what treasures you might be ready to part with?

Items donated for the Antique Auction can be tax deductible. Funds raised by this annual event are used to operate an award-winning countywide historical museum, provide student and adult educational programs, and encourage countywide efforts at historical preservation.

To donate antiques and collectibles by Friday, July 3, call the historical society at (815) 923-2267 or email info@mchenrycountyhistory.org.

Pickup service is available.

The Heritage Fair will be 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday, July 12, on the museum grounds in Union. The Antique Auction begins at 10 a.m. with Wonder Lake auctioneer Russ Davis.

This year's theme, "I Love the '80s," promises to provide plenty of fun and entertainment. A pie baking contest, music, bake sale, used books and white elephant sale, garden plant sale, museums exhibits, quilt bed turnings, magic show, auction, and much more will entertain visitors.
