Believe Project: $100 to help chem teacher pay medical bills

Today's winner of a $100 bill through the Believe Project is Matthew Feinberg of Arlington Heights.

Here is an excerpt of his pitch:

"I am in seventh grade, and I have a chemistry teacher who is super nice. However, during Thanksgiving break, her son got in a car crash and totaled his car. She has had to miss lots of school days to care for her son. Her cat also had to be put down.

"I would use this $100 to help her medical bills for her cat and her son, and also help pay for the car. She is a very nice teacher but is short on funds, especially since she has to pay for broken equipment caused by students. I have broken many things and would like to pay it forward by giving some money back to her to help her care for her son and replace broken equipment."

• The Believe Project is awarding $100 each day in December to a different person with a good idea for how to use $100 to do a good deed for someone else.
