Believe Project: $100 to help woman give her kids a modest Christmas
Today's winner of a $100 bill through the Believe Project is
Corinne Crumrine of Barrington.
Here is an excerpt of her pitch:
"A young woman with three young children in my women's support group is going through a difficult divorce. Her husband has been in rehab for drugs and alcohol numerous times. She is not receiving any financial support from her husband, and the bank is foreclosing on their home. She and the girls will soon be homeless. She is working, but is not able to make enough to pay her bills and put food on the table. She is relying on food stamps and the local food pantry. The money would help her cover her expenses, and make it possible for her children to have a modest Christmas. It is very hard to tell a 3-year-old child that Santa isn't coming this year."
• The Believe Project will award $100 each day in December to a different person with a good idea for how to use $100 to do a good deed for someone else. Email us your pitch of 100 words or fewer (include your name, address and hometown) to specialevents@dailyherald.com.
