Believe Project: $100 to help friend who lost job after being hit by car

Today's winner of a $100 bill through the Believe Project is Wendy Vieth of Libertyville.

Here is an excerpt of her pitch:

"If I had a $100 bill, I would give it to my friends, Rita and Peter Quinn. Peter was hit by a car (driver ran a red light) while out running about two years ago. Peter is now in a wheelchair.

"He was a salesman, so he immediately lost his job as he was no longer able to drive himself to appointments and in fact, did not return home from the hospital/rehab for many months after he was hit.

"Money remains a challenge for the Quinns and their three school-age children. Despite this horrible situation, Peter remains positive and upbeat.

"He is a good, honest man who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time."

• The Believe Project will award $100 each day in December to a different person with a good idea for how to use $100 to do a good deed for someone else. Email us your pitch of 100 words or fewer (include your name, address and hometown) to specialevents@dailyherald.com.
