Soaring Eagle Kung Fu won 19 medals at international competition

Six Soaring Eagle Kung Fu School students won 19 medals (14 gold, three silver and two bronze) at the 2012 Golden State International Wushu (Kung Fu) Championship, held June 16, in San Jose, Calif.

Also, the Soaring Eagle Kung Fu School in Palatine received the Team Organizer Award for outstanding achievement for winning so many medals.

The Golden State International Wushu Championship is an international Chinese martial arts tournament held each year in California.

This year, 289 Kung Fu athletes from many countries around the world competed in the tournament.

Soaring Eagle Kung Fu School is a premier martial arts school located at 291 N Northwest Hwy. in Palatine.

The founder and head coach of Soaring Eagle Kung Fu School is master Kaifei Song. Master Song is an "Elite Master" title awarded by Chinese Kung Fu authorities, a seven times Chinese Kung Fu national Champion, and a certified top level Kung Fu coach and judge. Master Song teaches traditional Chinese Shaolin Kung Fu, Chinese kickboxing, Tai Chi and Youth self-defense to the public.
