Woodstock North 4, Hampshire 3: Down 4-0 through five innings, Hampshire (11-19, 4-6) put 2 across in the sixth and a run in the seventh, but ultimately fell short in this Fox Valley Conference Fox Division loss against the Thunder (10-19, 3-8). Sara Finn, Tiffany Bentley and Becca Hurst recorded 2 hits while Jen Hurst (8-13) suffered the loss in the circle

Bartlett 1, Neuqua Valley 0: Sophomore Sydney Johnson recorded 2 of the 3 Hawks’ (24-3, 14-0) hits and knocked in the game-winning run in the top of the seventh inning. Johnson also recorded a double and a walk while Amanda Montbirand had a double and scored the game-winning run. Tori Burke (14-3) threw a complete-game, 1-hit shutout, and struck out 4 batters.

Jacobs 2, Crystal Lake South 1: The Golden Eagles (16-12, 5-6) loaded the bases in the bottom of the 10th inning and pushed the game-winning run across on an error to earn a Fox Valley Conference Valley Division victory. McKayla Lein (7-6) went the distance for the win striking out 3, walking 2, and scattering 4 hits. Jacquelyn Hengler went 2-for-5 at the plate with a double while Lein also recorded 2 hits. Hailee Massie suffered the loss for the Gators as she threw 9 innings allowing 1 earned run while striking out 3 and walking none.

Geneva 7, Streamwood 1: Brittany Delao led the Sabres (8-19, 3-13) offensively going 2-for-3 with a double and the lone RBI in this UEC River loss.

Burlington Central 9, Genoa-Kingston 0: The Rockets (23-7, 9-2) picked up their 14th straight victory and 17th win out of their last 18 as they easily defeated the Cogs at home. Angie Morrow (10-3) threw all 7 innings to earn the victory in the circle.

Nazareth Academy 10, St. Edward 0: The Green Wave (7-18) were outhit 11-2 as Kali Kossakowski and Becky Limberis accounted for the only hits in this nonconference loss.

Cary-Grove 17, Dundee-Crown 0: Jamie Deering (triple, 2 RBI), Taylor Dunne (double, 3 RBI), and Ellen Celske (double, 3 RBI) each recorded 3 hits a piece for the Trojans (24-6, 9-2) in this FVC Valley win. Sarah Leudo (double, 3 RBI) and Rebecca Lowe (2 doubles) each added 2 hits. Lindsay Efflandt (21-4) threw a 2-hitter to earn the victory while striking out 5 and walking 1 batter. Melany Love (4-7) suffered the loss for the Chargers (7-19, 1-12).

College softball

Judson University 2, Trevecca Nazarene University 1: It took 9 innings, but the Eagles came out victorious as they defeated Trevecca Nazarene University at the NCCAA World Series. Allison Catlett singled in the game-winning run and Sarah Boyer won her 19th game of the year as she struck out 4. Emily England an RBI while Concetta Lampugnano scored a run. The Eagles will now play top-seeded California Baptist University on Friday at noon.
