Spudic wins steeplechase for Harper

Good performances continued for the Harper men’s track and field team on Day 2 of the NJCAA track and field championships Friday in Alfred, NY.

Despite a spill, Chris Spudic (Prospect) earned his first national title in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Ryan Wojdyla (Palatine) placed fourth in the race.

Isaac Jean-Paul (Warren) won the high jump, and Lake Zurich product Eric Porter finished third.

In the women’s meet, Brittany Walls (Palatine) captured second place in the discus.

Six athletes and one Harper relay advanced to the finals.
