Cary-Grove 3, Jacobs 1: Sarah Leudo had a double and 3 RBI, Sara Markelonis went 2-for-3 with a double and Taylor Dunne was 2-for-3 as the Trojans (22-5, 7-1) maintained a share of the Fox Valley Conference Valley Division lead. Lindsay Efflandt (19-4) threw a 3-hitter with 3 strikeouts and no walks. Tori Berg took the loss for the Golden Eagles (14-10, 3-4).
Batavia 6, Streamwood 1: Kaitlyn Hedger took the loss for the Sabres (7-15, 2-11) in the Upstate Eight River.
Burlington Central 15, Harvard 0: The Rockets won their 11th straight in this Big Northern East triumph. Emily Bell hit a home run for BC (20-7, 6-2), while Bekah Harnish had 3 doubles, and Mackenzie Paschke, Haley Albamonte and Sarah Kisch added a double each. Brooke Gaylord (8-4) earned the win, allowing 3 hits with 6 strikeouts and 2 walks.
Westminster splits: Ally Heischler was 2-for-3 with 2 RBI and Rachel Fugiel and Cassidy Finnegan added doubles as the Warriors won Game 2 of a Northeast Athletic Conference doubleheader with Rockford Christian Life 8-6. Fugiel was the winning pitcher. RCL won Game 1 by a 4-3 score. Heischler was 3-for-3 with 2 RBI for Westminster (7-6, 5-6). Fugiel took the loss.
Grayslake North 5, Hampshire 3: Tiffany Bentley went 3-for-4 for the Whip-Purs (10-18, 3-5) in this FVC Fox loss. Jen Hurst was the losing pitcher.
College softball
Judson still alive: Deanna DeBoscherre hit a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning and Sarah Boyer earned her 18th win of the season as Judson staved off elimination in the CCAC tournament with a 4-2 win over Calumet College. Earlier in the day the Eagles lost to Robert Morris 3-2. Judson (27-24) will play the winner of a game between Robert Morris and St. Francis at noon today.
