Harper College to host second College and Career Expo on April 28

Harper College will hold its second annual College and Career Expo from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 28, in the college’s Avante Center for Science, Health Careers and Emerging Technologies, 1200 W. Algonquin Road, Palatine.

CBS 2 Chicago weatherman Steve Baskerville will highlight the event, which gives children grades 4 through 8 a taste of what going to college is like. Baskerville’s appearance is part of dozens of demonstrations and hands-on activities including a tour of Harper’s Simulation Hospital, demonstrations of the graphic arts technology lab and robotics exercises. Careers in science, health care, graphic arts, manufacturing, astronomy, world languages and others will be showcased.

The expo, attended by more than 600 people last year, is free and open to all children and parents. For more information, visit harpercollege.edu.
