Larkin 8, Bartlett 7: Kyle Newquist went 3-for-3 with a home run, a double and 2 RBI as Larkin (6-7, 3-2) held on for an Upstate Eight win over Bartlett. Chris Guzeman’s single drove in Jack Eckholm with the eventual game-winning run in the fifth inning. Guzeman (2 RBI) and Eckholm (RBI) each had 2 hits for the Royals, while Brandon Avila was 2-for-4 with abn RBI and Austin Royse drove in a run. For Bartlett, Ryan Roszkowiak (2-for-3, 2B, 2 RBI), Ryan Karrick (2-for-4, 2B), Giacomi Visconti (3-for-4, 2B) and Ben Havel (2-for-4, RBI) all contributed. Royse picked up the win for Larkin, pitching three scoreless innings to close the game. Nick Mazzei was the loser for the Hawks (6-8, 2-3).

South Elgin 4, St. Charles North 1: Andrew Weedman was 2-for-3 with a double, triple and RBI as South Elgin knocked off the North Stars in the Upstate Eight. Chris Bingham (1-1) fired a complete-game 4-hitter with 5 strikeouts and no walks for the Storm (7-2, 4-1). Ryan Ford (2-for-4, RBI) and Jake Buhmann (RBI) als contributed.

Lake Park 15, Elgin 2: Fred Slager had a double, and Ryan Sitter and Derek Strohmaier drove in runs for Elgin in this Upstate Eight loss. Sitter suffered the loss on the mound for the Maroons (4-8, 0-5).

Streamwood 7, Metea Valley 4: Dalton Lundeen allowed just 5 hits with 6 strikeouts and a walk over 6 innings as Streamwood (6-8, 2-4) registered an Upstate Eight win. Alex Morrow was 3-for-3 and Jeff Weaver 2-for-2 for the Sabres.

Huntley 5, Hampshire 2: Colin Lyman was 2-for-3 with a triple and 2 RBI and Brody Burkart drove in a run as Huntley (8-5) outlasted Hampshire in a Fox Valley Conference crossover. Michael Laramie drove in a run and Piotv Barnas had a double for Hampshire. Brian Doherty (2-1) picked up the win for the Red Raiders, allowing 4 hist in 6 innings with 4 strikeouts and 2 walks. Luke Wians was the losing pitcher.

Cary-Grove 7, Woodstock 1: Zach Marszal (2B, 3 RBI), Andrew Brierton (2-for-3, 2B, 2 RBI) and Matt Elert (3B, RBI) led this Cary-Grove win in FVC crossover play. Ryan Kareney (5-0) picked up the win for the Trojans (8-6), striking out 9, walking 2 and allowing 4 hits in a complete-game effort.

Grayslake Central 5, Dundee-Crown 4: The Chargers (4-7) suffered a tough FVC crossover loss in 10 innings. Zach Girard (2-for-5, B, 2 RBI), Dylan Kissack (2B), Ryan Suwanski (2-for-5, RBI) and Mike Hazelhurst (2 doubles) led D-C’s offense. Chris Gorman took the loss.

Jacobs 5, CL Central 2: Evan Blunt tossed a 4-hitter with 8 strikeouts and 1 walk to lead the Golden Eagles to an FVC crossover win. Greg Sidor had a double and 2 RBI and Connor Conzelman drove in a run for Jacobs.

CL South 12, Woodstock North 2: The Gators (10-6) rolled to a FVC crossover win as Tyler Hall (2-1) with 5 innings allowing just 4 hits with 7 strikeouts and no walks. Jake Bigos (2-for-3, 3B), Tyler Salm (3-for-4, RBI), Max Meitzler (2-for-3, 2B, 4 RBI), Nick Severino (3-for-4, RBI) and Jake Byron (3-for-4, 2 RBI) led the Crystal Lake South offense.

St. Edward 3, Chicago Christian 1: Jack Tierney (2B), Tyler Moranski and Ryan Nudd (2B) drove in the runs for St. Edward in this Suburban Christian win. Tierny picked up the win on the mound for the Green Wave (11-9, 4-2), allowing 5 hits with 11 strikeouts and 2 walks in a complete game.
