Girls soccer/Fox Valley roundup

The Huntley girls soccer team notched another shutout Thursday, turning back Woodstock 5-0 in a Fox Valley Conference crossover.

Jessica Galason and Kelli Rubino again split time in goal for the Red Raiders (5-2) but for the second day in a row they didn’t have to make a save.

Delaney Loprieno (2 goals), Summer Campbell, Ashley Schorr, and Jessy Helm all recorded goals for Huntley.

Crystal Lake South 4, Grayslake Central 2: Alexandra Romano recorded 2 goals to lead the Gators to a 4-2 Fox Valley crossover victory. Bianca Miceli and Christina Szocka also netted 1 goal each while Gianna Disarno turned away 8 shots on goal.

Burlington Central 2, Stillman Valley 1: The Rockets (4-4) scored all the goals they would need in the first half as they defeated Stillman Valley at home in Big Northern crossover action. Cali Andrews took a feed from Catherine Kaynish to give the Rockets the lead while Camille Dela Cruz recorded an insurance goal in the 23rd minute. Caitlin Solberg recorded 3 saves in goal for the Rockets.

Jacobs 0, Grayslake North 0: After 80 minutes of play, the Golden Eagles (4-3-2) recorded a draw as they played Grayslake North on the road. Alyssa Koeppler stopped 1 shot on goal for Jacobs.

Woodstock North 4, Dundee-Crown 1: The Chargers (0-9) fell on the road as they were unable to to keep up with Woodstock North’s scoring attack. Brittany Gantz scored the Chargers’ lone goal off an assist from Izabela Dziadkowiec. Denise Maldonado turned away 4 shots on goal.

Hampshire 1, Cary-Grove 1: The Whip-Purs (2-4-2) and the Trojans (3-4-1) were unable to decide a victor in their Fox Valley crossover match. Lizzy Panzica recorded the Whips’ lone goal while Korey Kronforst scored the Trojans’ only goal. Haylee Moscato recorded 8 saves in goal for Hampshire while Krystal Felderman was not tested for Cary-Grove.

Timothy Christian 4, Harvest Christian 0: The Lions (1-3) were unable to find the back of the net as they fell to Timothy Christian at home. Tori Nelson recorded 7 saves in goal.
