Harlem 3, CL South 2: An error and an infield dribbler contributed to Harlem’s 2 runs in the bottom of the seventh inning that handed Crystal Lake South (5-1) its first loss of the season. Freshman Haley Massey allowed only 2 hits and no earned runs in suffering the loss for the Gators.
South Elgin 2, Streamwood 1: Taylor Rees threw a 4-hitter with 4 strikeouts and 2 walks as South Elgin snapped an 8-game losing streak with this Upstate Eight win. Paige Allen drove in Brittany Koss with the winning run for the Storm (3-10, 1-1) in the bottom of the seventh inning. Junior Kara Rodriguez returned to the South Elgin lineup from ACL surgery and went 1-for-3 with a stolen base. Dani Fisher went 2-for-3 for Streamwood and Brittany Delao had a double and an RBI. Kaitlyn Hedger took the loss for the Sabres (3-4, 0-2).
Rockford East 6, St. Edward 3: Maddie Kerr and Ryan Scully drove in runs and Becky Limberis had a double for St. Edward (0-3) in this nonconference loss. Morgin Coughlin (0-2) struck out 5 and walked 2 in suffering the loss for the Green Wave.
Luther North 3, Westminster Christian 1: Ally Hieschler had an RBI for the Warriors (0-1) in this Northeast Athletic Conference game. Rachel Fugiel struck out 10 but suffered the loss for Westminster.
Cary-Grove 12, Hersey 1: Taylor Dunne was 4-for-4 with a home run, a double and 5 RBI as Cary-Grove (6-0) rolled to a nonconference win. Winning pitcher Lindsay Efflandt went 3-for-5 with a home run, double and 2 RBI for the Trojans, while Lisa Semro had 2 doubles and Sarah Leudo added 2 hits. Efflandt allowed just 1 hit and had 12 strikeouts with 1 walk.
Huntley 11, Belvidere North 4: Randi Peterson went 3-for-5 with 2 doubles and 4 RBI and Haley Spannraft won her first varsity game as Huntley (1-4) notched its first win of the season. Ashton Cattenhead had 2 hots for the Red Raiders and Brittany Koss had a double and an RBI.
Hampshire 3, Plano 2: Jordan Hook’s single to center drove in Becca Vodraska with the winning run in the ninth inning as Hampshire (6-4) won this nonconference game. Hook was 2-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI for the Whip-Purs. Jen Hurst (6-2) struck out 12 and walked none to earn the win.

Judson loses 2: Judson lost to one-run games in CCAC play, falling 7-6 and 8-7 to Calumet College. Sam Gladen and Sarah Boyer suffered the losses. Boyer had 12 strikeouts. Concetta Lampugnano had 2 hits and 2 RBI in Game 1 and a home run in Game 2 for the Eagles (14-15, 3-4).
