Huntley 6, Glenbard East 0: Craig Klein allowed just 2 hits in 6 innings as Huntley shut out Glenbard East in nonconference play. Bryce Only was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Red Raiders (5-4) and Matt Sullivan had a double. Jordan Chuipek added 2 hits for Huntley.

Burlington Central 10, Yorkville 4: Ray Hunnicutt had a 3-run home run and Blake Alexander (2B) and Riley Jensen each drove in 2 runs for the Rockets (7-4) in this nonconference win. Michael Scott also homered for BC, while Kein Zasada and Zach Ranney each had doubles. Ranney (2-0) picked up the win on the mound, allowing just 3 hits in 5 innings.

St. Edward 5, Walther Lutheran 1: Jacob Koehring tossed a 3-hitter with 8 strikeouts as St. Edward (7-0, 2-0) won for the second straight day in the Suburban Christian. Michael Castro (2-for-4, 2B), Jake Lafrenz (2-for-3, HR, 2 RBI), Luke Duffy (HR), Koehring (3-for-4, HR), Jack Tierney (2-for-4, 2B) and Antonio Domel (RBI) led the Green Wave offense.

Bartlett 3, Elgin 1: Dan Gallanis was 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI to lead Bartlett (5-4, 1-0) to an Upstate Eight win over Elgin. Ryan Roszkowiak was 3-for-3 with an RBI for the Hawks and Colin Novak went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Andrew Higdon had 2 hits and an RBI for Elgin and Jake Bartelt added a double. Novak (2-0) was the winning pitcher, allowing 4 hits in 6 innings. Alex Doty (1-1) suffered the loss for the Maroons (5-3, 0-1).

Cary-Grove 12, Carmel 3: Jeremy Vasquez was 2-for-3 with a triple and 2 RBI and Zach Marsal had a double and an RBI to lead the Trojans (5-6) to a nonconference win. Ryan Karency (3-0) was the winning pitcher for Cary-Grove.

Hampshire 8, Marengo 1: Mike Laramie had a triple and 4 RBI and Shane Hernandez drove in a run as Hampshire (5-2-1) won in nonconference play. Danny Keller (1-0) picked up the win for the Whip-Purs, striking out 5 and walking 1.

Westminster Christian 4, Luther North 2: Ryan Perez was 2-for-3 with a triple and Luke Weston, Will Woodhouse and Dylan Scully each drove in runs to lead the Warriors (4-3, 1-0) to a Northeast Athletic Conference win. Zack Edwards was the winning pitcher.

CL South 8, Hoffman Estates 3: Maz Meitzler was 3-for-4 with an RBI and Nick Martin went 2-for-4 with 3 RBI as Crystal Lake South notched the 500th win in program history. Jordan Van Dyck added 2 hits for the Gators (7-4). Tyler Hall (1-1) was the winning pitcher.

Lake Park 1, Streamwood 0: Lake Park scored the game’s only run on a passed ball in the sixth inning of this Upstate Eight game. Richie Gorski had a double for the Sabres (4-5, 0-1) and Dalton Lundeen suffered the loss.

College baseball

ECC loses 2: McHenry County College swept an ISCC doubleheader from ECC, 3-2 and 6-5. Kyle Leone had a triple in Game 1 for the Spartans, while Matt Kaiser (RBI) and Jimmy Martin added doubles. Art Sutter was the losing pitcher. In Game 2, Matt Stevens (2B, HR, 3 RBI) and Bobby Thorson (2 RBI) each had 2 hits for ECC (7-9, 2-2). Ryan Burke took the loss.

Judson swept: Judson had only 3 hits in Game 1 and then lost Game 2 in eight innings as the Eagles fell to St. Francis 3-0 and 5-4 in CCAC play, Tyler Ware suffered the loss in Game 1. Billy Wright had 3 hits in Game 2 and Jordan Pemble suffered the loss for the Eagles (26-8, 12-3).
