St. Edward 15, Northridge Prep 3: Luke Duffy scattered 5 hits with 7 strikeouts and 3 walks and went 3-for-3 with a double. home run and 4 RBI as the Green Wave (4-5) rolled to a nonconference win. Michael Castro (2-for-4, 3 RS, 2 SBs), Jake Lefrenz (1-for-1, 3 BBs, 4 RS) and Tighe Koehring (3-run HR) contributed to the St. Edward offense.
Larkin splits: Dylan Ganow struck out 7 and picked up the complete-game win as Larkin beat Belvidere 5-2 in Game 1 of a doubleheader. Belvidere came back and won the nightcap 14-8. Brayden Royse (2 RBI), Nico Morado (2B, RBI), Will Rodriguez (2-for-4, 2B) and Ganow (RBI) led the Larkin offense in Game 1. In the second game, Brayden Royse (2B), Marado (2B, 3 RBI), Ganow (2B, 2 RBI) and Austin Royse (2B, RBI) led the Royals (2-3). Sean Maloney was the losing pitcher.
Burlington Central 11, Red Bud 5: The Rockets got home runs from Blake Alexander, Tanner Scott and Ray Hunnicutt to win this game in southern Illinois. Zach Ranney (3-for-5), Kevin Zasada (2) and Scott all contributed doubles as well. Ryan Schuring picked up the win for BC (4-2), allowing just 1 earned run in 4 innings.
Huntley 2, DeKalb 1: Justin Gundlach tossed a 5-hitter and Jake Perkins picked up the save as Huntley (3-2) made it 3 straight wins. Colin Lyman had a triple for the Red Raiders and Bryce Only had an RBI double.
Buffalo Grove 10, Dundee-Crown 4: Ryan Suwanski had a double for Dundee-Crown in this nonconference loss. Nick Lodi was the losing pitcher.
