Boys basketball/Fox Valley roundup
Westminster 5th at NAC tournament: After the Warriors (14-12) dropped their opening round game on Friday, they bounced back to win twice on Saturday, beating Alden-Hebron 57-35 and Mooseheart 50-43 to finish in fifth place and send coach Bruce Firchau's career win total to 498. Will Woodhouse poured in 30 points against Hebron and 17 against Mooseheart. Colin Brandon added 14 points in the win over Mooseheart.
Cary-Grove 56, Jacobs 51 (OT): Jake Bianchi had 12 points and Jake Arquette and Zach Taylor added 10 each as Cary-Grove (6-17, 3-6) edged Jacobs in Fox Valley Conference Valley Division action. Alex Glover scored 16 for Jacobs (4-18, 2-7), while Will Schwerdtmann and Bobby Mladenovic added 11 each.
Men's basketball
Calumet College 69, Judson University 50: The Eagles (9-19, 6-6) could not fend off Calumet's hot shooting as they fell in CCAC play. Caleb Sutton led the Eagles with 14 points while Nick Morgan also added double-digits with 10 points.
Women's basketball
Calumet College 63, Judson University 54: The Eagles (13-15, 4-6) committed some untimely turnovers and were unable to get the necessary rebounds as they fell in CCAC play. Emily Ragsdale (8 rebounds) and Hailey Cnota each led the Eagles with 12 points while Shaniqua Roberts chipped in 10 points.
