NISRA receives safety accreditation

The Northern Illinois Special Recreation Association has received a 100 percent rating and accredited status on its annual Loss Control Review by the Park District Risk Management Agency.

The review covers all aspects of NISRA's operation from administrative policies and human resources, orientation and training, program and transportation procedures, to general safety and liability.

A PDRMA Risk Management Consultant visited NISRA's office and several recreation programs to make observations, as well as rated the association on 120 criteria in the written review.

NISRA provides year round recreation activities for children and adults with disabilities in 13 communities in McHenry County and parts of Cook, Lake, and Kane counties.

Registration for winter and spring programs is underway. Visit www.nisra.org, NISRA's new Facebook page, or call (815) 459-0737 for information.
