Viol and Harpsichord Concert in Crystal Lake Jan. 15

On Sunday, January 15 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Crystal Lake (76 W. Crystal Lake Ave.), Phillip W. Serna, viola da gamba, and Emily Jane Morlan, harpsichord, will celebrate music of the French Baroque in a concert with selections from the 1991 film "Tous les Matins du Monde." Following the performance, the audience will be invited to view these unique instruments. The concert is free and open to the public.

Dr. Serna is the founder and music director of the Early Music outreach program Viols in Our Schools, Early Music America's Outreach Award recipient of 2010. In addition to teaching privately around the Chicago area, Phillip is instructor of double bass and viola da gamba at Valparaiso University.

Emily Jane Morlan maintains an active performing schedule in Chicagoland as a pianist and harpsichordist. She is a founding member and harpsichordist of the Antiqua Baroque Consort, and teaches at Concordia University Chicago and North Central College.
