Suburbia's got talent: Harper College Jazz Lab Band

You can catch the Harper College Jazz Lab Band, here performing McCoy Tyner's "Groove Waltz", at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, in the Performing Arts Center on the Palatine campus. The Jazz Ensemble also will perform. The Lab Band, directed by Ken Spurr, is run as a small jazz combo that performs a standard professional jazz repertoire. Each semester, the band makes a recording in a professional recording studio and performs a live concert at the end of the semester. Tickets are $10. (847) 925-6100 or harpercollege.edu/boxoffice.
