Boys basketball/Fox Valley roundup

Brandon Larkin-Guilfoyle scored a team-high 19 points Monday night to lead Streamwood’s boys basketball team to a 48-46 season-opening win over Wheaton Warrenville South at the Wheaton Academy Thanksgiving tournament.

Dalton Lundeen added 10 points for the Sabres, who battled back from a 32-22 halftime deficit to earn the victory.

St. Francis deSales 74, Hampshire 70: Hampshire couldn’t hang onto a 46-45 lead going into the fourth quarter and fell in the opening round of the Sycamore Strombom tournament. Tyler Watzlawick led the Whip-Purs with 25 points and Shane Hernandez added 22.

Westminster Christian 80, Elgin Academy 26: Colin Brandon led four players in double figures with 21 points as the Warriors rolled to an easy win in the opening round of the Westminster Christian tournament. Will Woodhouse added 15 points, Aaron Wiewel had 14 and Sam Carani 10 for Westminster. Tim Rodgers and Robert Klaczynski each had 8 points. Conner Flexman led Elgin Academy with 11 points.

Huntley 58, Chicago Harper 32: Amanze Egekeze struck for 18 points and Bryce Only added 13 as Huntley rolled to an easy win in the opening round of the Sycamore Strombom tournament. Justin Frederick added 10 points for the Red Raiders and Troy Miller had 8.

Belvidere 52, Cary-Grove 39: Ben Bradshaw had 10 points to lead Cary-Grove in this loss at the Hoops for Healing Tournament.

Men’s basketball

IPFW 86, Judson 59: Adam Hodge led Judson with 14 points and Landon Skinner added 12 in this loss to Division I Indiana-Purdue-Fort Wayne.
