The Lettermen Christmas Nov. 27 at the MAC

Three-part vocal group The Lettermen will present a holiday show at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, at the McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage, 425 Fawell Blvd. in Glen Ellyn.

The group, which originally formed in the late 1950s, released its first single, “Their Hearts Were Full of Spring,” more than 46 years ago. The Lettermen are known for their soft melodies and seamless sound on recordings, including, “Cherish/Precious and Few” and “World Without Love.”

Their Nov. 27 holiday show features a selection of traditional Christmas favorites and Lettermen hits.

Original members Tony Butala, Donovan Tea and Bobby Poynton perform hundreds of concerts each year and in 2001, The Lettermen were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame.

Throughout their lengthy career, The Lettermen have had 32 consecutive Billboard Magazine chart albums, 11 Gold records and five Grammy nominations.

Tickets to “The Lettermen Christmas” are $44 for adults, $42 for seniors and $34 for College of DuPage students and youth. First- and second-row tickets are $69 for adults, $67 for seniors and $59 for COD students and youth.
