Boys soccer / Lake County roundup

Mauricio Salgado got his first hat trick to lead Round Lake’s boys soccer team past visiting Grant 6-2 in a North Suburban Prairie Division match Wednesday.

Salgado scored all his goals in the first half, the first assisted by Mariano Navarez. Salgado also assisted a tally by teammate Jordi Rubio. Round Lake’s fifth goal of the half was scored by Lorenzo Cortez. Jorge Vazquez added the final goal in the second half, assisted by Rubio.

Andres Velarde and Omar Valadez scored for Grant (5-4, 1-1).

Wauconda 1, Marengo 0: Assisted by Jesus Marquez, Rogileo Gomez scored the game’s lone goal to improve the Bulldogs’ record to 3-6. Christian Tapia got the shutout, making 3 saves.

Lakes 1, Belvidere North 1: Tom Langbein scored, assisted by Trevor Ray to give the Eagles the lead in the first half. Belvidere North scored with 15 minutes left in the game to tie.

Roberto Tre Re made 6 saves for Lakes (2-4-1).
