Advocate Condell's Free Education Programming Underway
Advocate Condell physicians Jennifer DeBruler, MD, and Adam Rubinstein, MD, board certified in internal medicine, gave presentations last month on “What Women Should Know About Men's Health.”
Because women often are the driving forces behind the health care of their spouses and significant others, the doctors addressed the must-have screening tests for men. They also educated women on what signs to look for in common health problems such as depression and sleep apnea.
The program was the first in a series of four focusing on “What Women Should Know….” Other programs in the series include:
• "What Women Should Know About Varicose Veins," a lecture and screening, from 6:30 - 9 pm on Wednesday, Sept. 21, in the hospital's West Tower, 801 S. Milwaukee Ave. in Libertyville. Advocate Condell physician Shayle Patzik, a board-certified interventional radiologist, will speak about the hospital's state-of-the-art treatment of varicose veins, which are not only painful and unsightly but also can be indicative of other medical problems. The first 24 attendees will receive a free, non-diagnostic screening following the presentation. The registration code for this program is 5W25.
• “What Women Should Know About Flu Season,” a lecture and flu shot clinic, from 5:30-8 pm on Monday, Oct. 10, at the Gurnee Centre Club, 1405 Hunt Club Road in Gurnee. Mobola Campbell-Yesufu, MD, board certified in infectious disease, will talk about how to stay healthy during flu season. Flu shots are available after the lecture for $10 and a non-perishable food item, to be donated to a local food pantry. The registration code for this program is 5W26.
• “What Women Should Know About Staying Healthy,” a panel discussion on leading women's health topics, from 7-10 pm on Monday, Oct. 24, at Advocate Condell's Conference Center, 700 Garfield Ave., Libertyville. Condell physician Eileen Morrison, MD, board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, will discuss breast health; Geetha Reddy, MD, board certified in cardiology, will discuss heart health; nutritionist Joshh Rager will discuss diet; and special guest Francine Friedman, national speaker and best-selling author of MatchDotBomb, will talk about the importance of emotional health for maintaining well-being.
