COD Receives $93,500 DCEO Grant for Employer Training Investment Program

The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity recently awarded $93,500 to College of DuPage in support of industry training through the Employer Training Investment Program (ETIP).

The ETIP program will focus on large Illinois companies employing more than 250 full-time workers. College of DuPage will train a minimum of 105 new and 263 existing employees from 18 participating companies through December 2011.

Training topics will include Business Writing, Change Management, Continuous Quality Improvement, Lotus Notes, Microsoft Skill Development, and Time Management. Technical workplace skills development in Forklift Driving, IT Records Management and Welding will also be featured.

The initiative's goals are to strengthen community college and industry partnerships in retraining workers, advance employees to higher skilled jobs within their companies, and positively impact employee retention and satisfaction.
