Business leaders to attend Chicago Select Golf Invitational Aug. 15
The American Cancer Society Chicago Select Golf Invitational will host an estimated 200 golfers at Medinah Country Club on Monday, August 15, 2011. As one of the largest golf events nationally for the Society, the event attracts corporate sponsors, business and philanthropic leaders, underwriters and distinguished guests to raise funds for the American Cancer Society.
The event includes 18 holes of golf on one of two courses, including the famed Medinah Course #3, the host course of the 2012 Ryder Cup. The Chicago Select will be one of the few events to have access to the course this year, including many of the course renovations that have already been completed. A live and silent auction, dinner and an awards presentation will follow.
Since 1995, Chicago Select has raised more than $6 million to help fund American Cancer Society programs and services offered at no charge to cancer patients and their families. Participant's contributions will also save lives by helping people stay well, get well, find cures and fight back.
“It's a great day to join the Chicago-metro business community and individuals who are committed to making a difference in the fight against cancer,” said Jeff Carlsen, Vice President of Human Resources at Reyes Holdings, co-chair for this year's event along with Tom Wiffler, President and CEO of UnitedHealthcare. “This disease touches so many we know and funds raised will have a direct impact on the lives of cancer patients.”
Among this year's major sponsors are UnitedHealthcare, Reyes Holdings and Interactive Health Solutions. Partnership opportunities begin at $2,500 with foursomes ranging from $5,000 and up.
