Agoro finds his future at Ashford
Harper College triple and long jumper Fuad Agoro (Conant) has signed a national letter of intent with Ashford University, an NAIA school in Iowa.
Agoro chose Ashford over North Central College in Naperville, Division II West Liberty (West Va.) and Ohio Valley Conference member Eastern Kentucky.
“They’re the ones that have been contacting me the most,” Agoro said of Ashford.
Agoro earned his Associates Degree in the spring and is planning a major in marketing and public relations. Agoro will receive a partial athletic scholarship to compete with the Hilltoppers.
Agoro finished fourth in the triple and high jumps at the recently completed NJCAA Division III championships. He also qualified for nationals in the triple and high jumps the previous year.
Agoro will continue to compete in the jumps at Ashford and may also be a relay runner.
“He’s a fantastic jumper,” said Harper coach Renee Zellner. “They’re going to learn he’s a good quarter-miler. He is extremely coachable.”
