Erin Kennelly struck out five and allowed 3 hits in earning the win for Mundelein (2-5, 2-2). Kennelly also stroked a double.
Carmel 12, Marian Central 2: Sally Snarski homered, doubled and drove in 4 runs, and winning pitcher Erika Schoenfeld went 3-for-3 with a double, an RBI and 2 runs scored for the Corsairs in the nonconference game.
Carmel (7-4) also got a big game from Kathleen Felicelli, who was 2-for-3 with a double, triple and 3 RBI. Kelley Dodge singled, walked and scored twice, and Madeline Felipez homered and scored 2 runs.
Schoenfeld threw all 5 innings, striking out three.
Prairie Ridge 7, Grayslake Central 0: Lauren Seegers led the victorious Wolves, going 3-for-4 with a homer, double and 4 RBI.
Grayslake Central’s lone hits came from Claire Brennan and Beth Caloway.
Vernon Hills 2, Lakes 1: Megan Meline and the Cougars avenged a 3-1 loss from Tuesday, as they scored the winning run in the seventh.
Meline tripled and picked up the win, striking out six and not walking a batter. Jordyn Comitor had a double for the Cougars.
Vernon Hills evened its record in the North Suburban Prairie to 2-2.
