Harper College hosts Earth Week events April 4-6

Harper College in Palatine is planning a series of events this week as part of Earth Week.

The highlight is the “Our Green Future” panel discussion at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Performing Arts Center. It will feature winners of the Earth Island Institute’s Brower Youth Award discussing the power of one person within the bigger picture of environmental justice and social impact.

Other events from today through Wednesday include a presentation on owls with live raptors; a lecture on coral reefs and climate change; a screening of “No Impact Man;” and a multimedia presentation from the Alliance for Climate Education on the unpredictable consequences of an increase in carbon dioxide.

All events are open to the public and most are free. For more information, visit harpercollege.edu/gogreen.
