Volunteer speakers needed for Humanitarian Service Project

The Humanitarian Service Project is looking for volunteers who enjoy public speaking to join its Community Outreach Speakers Team.

Members of the Speaker Team visit civic clubs, schools, churches, and businesses to inform them of the HSP's mission to alleviate the pain and suffering poverty brings to children and the elderly. Materials and training are provided and speakers participate when their schedules allow.

The local charity started in 1979 by helping 35 needy families for Christmas. In 2010, it served 6,400 needy children, 556 low-income families, and 120 impoverished seniors through its Senior Citizen's Project, Children's Birthday Project, Christmas Offering Project and Feed the Kids Project.

The Humanitarian Service Project has received Charity Navigator's highest Four Star rating and ranks in the top 3 percent of nonprofits for fiscal management.
