COD McAninch Arts Center gets $24,300 Illinois Arts Council Grant

Programs at the McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage are partially supported through funding from the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency. Recently, the MAC received a $24,300 grant from the IAC to assist with general operations of its current season.

The MAC's designation as an Illinois Arts Council Partner in Excellence requires demonstration of superior arts programming, outstanding management and fiscal stability. In addition, this designation requires the engagement of underserved and multicultural audiences, as well as the inclusion of a significant number of Illinois artists in the performance schedule.

During the 2009-2010 season, the MAC programming schedule included 165 performances of 71 separate plays and concerts, and seven art exhibits. During this time period, the MAC served 66,378 patrons, including 11,044 school-age children who attended SchoolStage performances. Of the more than 600 professional artists who performed, nearly half were Illinois residents.
