For Oakton Community College: Wadhwa, Staley

Three strong candidates are seeking two six-year terms at Oakton Community College. The fiscally responsible board, including incumbent Jody Wadhwa, has kept the school in good shape through renovations and while upgrading programs to a high standard. Wadhwa, a member since 1987, keeps quality education his focus, and he understands the multifaceted mission of community colleges in today’s world. Eric Staley, who owns an organic gardening business and has worked with underprivileged kids, demonstrates passion about the future of Oakton. He currently serves as student trustee on the Oakton’s board, and that experience and his perspective as a nontraditional student would serve the college well. Also running is Patricia Harada, an entrepreneur and community activist whom we would like to see continue her advocacy of OCC.
