Ceramic art exhibit at COD gallery through April 9

An exhibition of works by artists Marie Torbensdatter Hermann and Anders Ruhwald is on display through Saturday, April 9, at the Gahlberg Gallery, located in the lobby of the McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage, 425 Fawell Blvd. in Glen Ellyn.

Interested in the objects we surround ourselves with in our everyday lives, their placement and our relationship with them, Hermann's ceramic works reference these objects, but their function is often denied.

Ruhwald creates ceramic objects shaped in forms long associated with household objects, but not intended to be used as such. Combined, the artists' works investigate the nominative role certain objects play in the navigation of our daily lives.

The gallery is open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays and Saturdays, 6 to

8 p.m. Saturdays and during all Mainstage performances. The gallery also is open by appointment.

For more information, call the gallery at (630) 942-2321, or visit www.cod.edu/gallery.
