Harper in third after Day 1
The fifth-ranked Harper College wrestling team opened competition at the NJCAA wrestling championships in Spokane, Wash., Friday night.
Through the first day of action, three Harper wrestlers remain in championship contention: 174 pounder Khari Washington, 285-pounder Adam Chalfant and 184-pounder Arber Bebo (Addison Trail).
The Hawks are tied with Iowa Central Community College for third place at 57.5 points. Harper is 9 points behind team leader Clackamas and 5.5 points behind meet host Northern Idaho.
All championship matches will take place today. They can be watched live on the tournament web site at www.nic.edu/athletics/wrestlingNationals/.
