Cary-Grove grabs an easy win over Dundee-Crown

Claire Jakubicek scored 18 points and her sister Olivia added 10 Thursday night as Cary-Grove's girls basketball team rolled to a 49-18 Fox Valley Conference Valley Division win over Dundee-Crown.

The Trojans (9-1, 1-0) led 29-10 at halftime and never looked back.

Ali Sanders led Dundee-Crown (3-7, 0-1) with 7 points.

Elgin Academy 36, Crossroads 33: Caitlin Ward scored 12 points and Bridget Keslinke added 8 to lead Elgin Academy (2-8) to a nonconference win.

Morgan Park Academy 52, Westminster Christian 43: McKaila Hays and Andrea Walsh led Westminster (4-3) with 7 points each in this nonconference loss.

Women's basketball

ECC 73, Harper 72: Cassie Dumoulin had 22 points and Dijon Smith added 16 as Elgin Community College nipped Harper in nonconference play. Kim Hotovy added 15 points for the Spartans and Gen Johnson had 14.
