Cary-Grove 56, Antioch 35: Meg Straumann scored 18 points and Claire Jakubicek added 16 as the Trojans (6-1) rolled to a nonconference win. The NIU-bound Jakubicek now stands just 20 points shy of becoming Cary-Grove's all-time leading scorer.

Mundelein 52, CL South 47: Crystal Lake South got closer to its elusive first win of the season but was outscored 25-20 in the second half and lost this nonconference game. Megan Hoffman scored 15 points, making 13 of 14 from the free-throw line, and Stephanie Melone added 10 for the Gators (0-7).

Women's basketball

IVCC 76, ECC 55: Gen Johnson had 15 points and Cassie Dumoulin added 14 but Elgin Community College fell to Illinois Valley Central in nonconference action. The Spartans shot just 18 of 65 for the night.
